We have an ARRL Section Manager election quickly approaching, we at Arkansas Amateur Radio Today support the following candidate.

My name is J.M. Rowe N5XFW, and I want to be the American Radio Relay League Arkansas Section Manager for one reason: to Move Forward.  The Arkansas Section of the ARRL has seen many changes in the past few years, and the Arkansas Section can and will continue to be a leader in the future.

I have and will continue to support the Five Pillars of the ARRL; which are Public Service, Advocacy, Education, Technology, and Membership.

Public Service:  The Arkansas Section will continue to be recognized as a valuable and capable emergency communications public resource.

Advocacy:  The Arkansas Section will continue to work with our legislative and regulatory bodies in a proactive manner to ensure success on behalf of our members.

Education:  The Arkansas Section will continue to be a resource for those who wish to begin or upgrade a license, improve their personal achievement, learn a new skill, and also for those that wish to teach.

Technology:  The Arkansas Section will continue encouraging its members to develop, innovate, and utilize current and emerging technology in pursuit of the radio art.

Membership:  The Arkansas Section will continue working to increase the membership so as to provide a stable and secure financial base for the organization so that membership benefits will always be available.

The hams of the Arkansas Section have had quite a few challenges recently, and there are more challenges on the horizon.  Let us meet those challenges and shape our response to ensure the future of Ham Radio not only in Arkansas and the United States, but also the entire world.  I appreciate your thoughtful consideration and confidence, and I appreciate your vote.

Thanks and 73,

J.M. N5XFW

Hello all:

Our Division Director K5MC was notified today by the West Gulf  Division Director of a patch that is available at a very reasonable cost.  Before anybody says anything, I know these guys are from Texas!  Let me tell you: in the event of a New Madrid incident, these guys are one of the first groups on the list to come help us.  So maybe we ought to give them a little support now!

You are under no obligation to do anything, but I figure that like me, a bunch of you will want one of the special patches.  I wonder if the Arkansas Section can order more than any other section?  Clubs might consider ordering for their members to save on shipping.
